AIFP FAQs

The AIFP is a one-year program that educates participants on various aspects of alternative investments and strengthens them to compete for positions in this highly competitive industry.
  • What is the purpose of the Fellowship?

The Fellowship educates participants on various aspects of alternative investments and strengthens them to compete for positions in this highly competitive industry at the end of their two-year analyst programs. The program also sharpens Fellows’ relevant skills for their current analyst roles.

  • What is the application/interview timeline?

Applications are now open! Fill out here.

  • When and where are Fellowship activities held?

Fellows participate in virtual and in-person workshops. Events are scheduled outside of work hours to not disrupt work obligations.

  • Is this a paid Fellowship?

No, Fellows will not be paid. The Fellowship is an educational program designed to complement the learning that occurs while individuals are employed as full-time analysts and/or management consultants.

  • Is there an application fee?

There is no fee to apply or become a Fellow.

  • Are Fellows guaranteed job offers?

The Fellowship is purely an educational program. Although the program is designed to better position participants to work in the alternative investments sector within a stand-alone firm or an investment bank after their analyst programs, SEO cannot promise or guarantee employment.

  • Will SEO accept an online printout or PDF Score Report from the College Board?

Yes. The turnaround time for College Board Score Reports is four to six weeks for some applicants. Please be sure to request SAT scores and transcripts sufficiently in advance to ensure delivery to SEO by the time of your interview.

  • What if my official transcript or official Score Report will not arrive until after the application deadline?

You can still submit an online application. However, these documents must be submitted on or before the day of your in-person interview for your application to be considered complete and your candidacy to remain viable. You may send them to:

    SEO, Attn: Alternative Investments

    55 Exchange Place, Suite 601,

    New York, NY 10005

    or altinvest@seo-usa.org

  • Do you need “official” or “unofficial” transcripts and Score Reports?

Both are acceptable and can be uploaded into the application, but both official transcripts and official score reports must be delivered by your first interview.

  • What is SEO’s organizational code for scores sent through the College Board?

    SEO’s code is 8798.

  • I only took the ACT, not the SAT. Will ACT scores be accepted in lieu of SAT scores for Fellowship consideration?

Yes, SEO will consider applicants with only an ACT score.
